The report covering January - April 2012 is based on the analysis of hate speech towards national, ethnic and religious identities along with content targeting LGBTI individuals and women.  

The conference held on 21-22 March 2012 at Istanbul Bilgi University and Kadir Has University took place with the participation of Dr. Sejal Parmar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra Arsan and Mahmut Çınar. 

6 local journalists and 2 NGO representatives from Afyon, 2 local journalists from Uşak and 20 students from The Communication Faculty of Eskisehir University participated to the workshop.

The aim of the one-day workshop was to raise awareness against hate speech that reproduces prejudices in the society, supports discriminative feelings and provokes hate crimes.

With the participation of academics and journalists working on issues of discrimination, racism, discourse, media ethics and freedom of expression, the conference "Wounding Words and Acts: Hate Crimes and Hate Speech" was held.
