The second of the Hate Speech in Media workshops took place in Afyon on the 17th of October 2011. Firstly, project coordinators Nuran Gelişli and Garen Aram Kapril presented the media watch and hate speech project and www.nefretsoylemi.org website.
In the following session, İncilay Cangöz gave a speech on journalism with special focus on rights and the possible use of a non-discriminating language. In the last session, various examples of articles that contain hate speech elements were introduced to the participants and they discussed how the problematic articles could have been written without hate speech.
6 local journalists and 2 NGO representatives from Afyon , 2 local journalists from Uşak and 20 students from The Communication Faculty of Eskisehir University participated to the workshop.
