With the participation of Aycan Demirel from Kreuzberg Initiative against Anti-Semitism (KIgA) and Johannes Baldauf from Amadeu Antonio Foundation (AAS), neo-Nazi racism, hate speech and anti-Semitism in Germany were discussed.

In the panel, the issues of language politics, identity and discrimination in Turkey’s education system were discussed under the moderation of Ayşe Gül Altınay with the participation of Şerif Derince, Elmas Arus and Melisa Soran.

'Curating Memory: Dealing With the Past Through Museums in Europe and South Africa' took place on October 28, 2016 in the Havak Hall at the Hrant Dink Foundation. The panel had four international guests.

With the contribution of Zafer Kıraç, Mustafa Eren and Seçil Doğuç, the panel on the history of prisons and the discriminatory practices of the prison system in Turkey was held under the moderation of İdil Işıl Gül.

The discussion on popular culture, TV series sector, discrimination and representation was held with the participation of Tomris Giritlioglu, Gaye Boralıoğlu and Nilgün Öneş, who have accomplished many works in the sector.

The panel was held with the participation of Jonathon Lee, Communication Coordinator of European Roma Rights Center, and Turkey Coordinator of the Global Media Monitoring Project Prof. Dr. Nezih Orhon.

The panel on the ways in which literature forms a new language took place under the moderation of Karin Karakaşlı and with the participation of authors Ayfer Tunç and Kemal Varol.

In the first event of the ASULIS, with the contribution of Ebru Nihan Celkan, Melek Özman and Ahmet Sami Özbudak, how theatre and cinema can be used as a tool for combatting against discrimination was discussed.

Hrant Dink Foundation organized a new panel with the participation of Cultural Heritage Without Borders (CHwB) representatives in Eastern Europe and of the Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage.

The Hrant Dink Foundation is organizing, as a part of its 'Revealing and Advocating the Multi-Cultural Heritage of Anatolia' project, a new panel called ‘Topographies of Memory: Exchanging Knowledge and Best Practices’. 

With the contribution of Istanbul Bilgi University Children’s Studies Unit and Hayat Sende Youth Academy Association, the media-children relation and the representation of children under legal protection in the media were discussed.

As a part of the cultural heritage in Anatolia project, Hrant Dink Foundation and Houshamadyan  jointly organized a series of panels and workshops on intangible cultural heritage of non-Muslim communities in Turkey. 

Based on the prominent findings of the Media Watch on Hate Speech project, discriminatory discourse and hate speech in the media directed against religious and ethnic identities were discussed.

In the panel 'Combating Discriminatory Discourse: Theoretical Discussions & European Experience regarding Hate Speech Laws', the boundaries between freedom of expression and hate speech and European hate speech laws were discussed.

With the contribution of Hatice Çetinkaya and Nilay Vardar, combating discrimination and discriminatory discourse against Roma people in the media and the representation of them especially in the mainstream media were discussed.
