In the panel moderated by KONDA Director Bekir Ağırdır, issued as part of the Media Watch on Hate Speech project, findings of media monitoring in 2017 and discriminatory discourse reports were presented. 

The talk on Tanıl Bora’s latest book Zamanın Kelimeleri: Yeni Türkiye’nin Siyasî Dili [Words of our Times: Political Discourse of the New Turkey], moderated by İlksen Mavituna, was held on March 1 in Havak Hall.

The panel moderated by Yaman Akdeniz was held with the participation of Article 19, a human rights organization working for the defense and promotion of freedom of expression and freedom of information worldwide.

In the third talk of conceptual discussion series  held on January 22, 2018, moderated by Olcay Akyıldız, Feryal Saygılıgil and Alev Özkazanç discussed the relation of feminist and queer thought with discourse.

In the second talk of conceptual discussion series held on January 15, 2018, moderated by Murat Cankara, Sibel Irzık and Seval Şahin discussed the relationship between literature and discourse.

In the first talk of conceptual discussion series, moderated by Nur Betül Çelik, Nazlı Ökten and Ferda Keskin discussed the notion of discourse and the relationship between discourse and politics.

The findings concerning printed press in Turkey between May-August 2017 and the discriminatory discourse report, 'Giaour' Discourse in Print Media was presented with a panel discussion moderated by İdil Engindeniz.

Moderated by Çiçek Tahaoğlu, women and LGBTI news editor at bianet, the panel was held with the participation of Pınar Büyüktaş from Association for Combating Sexual Violence, and Yıldız Tar from KAOS GL.

Under the moderation of Gülay Günlük-Şenesen, with the participation of Ulaş Bayraktar, Aslı Atay and Burcu Yakut Çakar, the representation of women in local governments is discussed with the perspective of gender equality.

The panel 'Similar Discourses, New Methods in Turkey and Europe: Countering Hate Speech through Art and Performance' moderated by Zeynep Oral was held with the participation of Peter Molnar and İdil Engindeniz Şahan.

Media Watch on Hate Speech Project’s findings concerning Turkish printed press between January-April 2017 was presented on June 19, 2017 in Havak Hall with a panel discussion moderated by İdil Engindeniz.

After the screening of the documentary Gacı Gibi (Hatewalk), the talk moderated by Yıldız Tar from Kaos GL was held with the participation of director Serkan Çiftçi and Berfin Kılıç, who is featured in the documentary.

After the screening, the talk was moderated by Şenay Özden, and the director İbrahim Yeşilbaş, the coordinator Yılmaz Delen and the actor Jwan Abdo talked about their experiences during and after the shooting.

After the screening of Buçuk (The Half) documentary directed by Elmas Arus and Haluk Arus, a talk with the director Elmas Arus was held, which was moderated by Roman Medya team member Pınar Sayan.

Under the moderation of Feyza Akınerdem, Banu Güven, Emine Uçak Erdoğan and Melis Alphan discussed the represantation of women in media and their experiences as women journalists.
