With this newsletter we would like to share with you events and new content planned for November. On November 20, in collaboration with istos, we will hold a conference titled "The 1964 Expulsions and the Istanbul Greeks on Its 60th Anniversary." The conference will focus on the government’s decision in 1964 that led to the expulsion of approximately one-third of the Istanbul Greek community. Detailed information about this conference and registration details are available in the related news below.
You may also register to participate in the panel "Re(dis)covering Histories: Archives, Memory, and Politics," to take place on November 23. This panel will explore the intricate politics of archives and their complex relationship with social and individual memories.
In this newsletter you can also find out about the most recent addition to the KarDes mobile app, the Bağlarbaşı tour as well as the new report focusing on relations between the peoples of Turkey and Armenia. Finally, the newsletter provides detailed information on rentable spaces in the Anarad Hığutyun Building, which currently hosts the Hrant Dink Foundation and Agos Newspaper.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our board member Fuat Keyman on October 18. It was an honor for us to have worked with Professor Keyman. We will always honor his contributions to the foundation.

The conference "The 1964 Expulsions and the Istanbul Greeks on Its 60th Anniversary," organized by istos publishing and the Hrant Dink Foundation, will explore the 1964 expulsions with the participation of witnesses who directly experienced them.

On Saturday, November 23rd at 14:00, the panel we will hold at the Anarad Hığutyun Building, will explore the intricate politics of archives and their complex relationship with social and individual memories. 

KarDes: Multicultural Memory Tours Guide has added the Bağlarbaşı memory tour to its Istanbul content. The tour was shaped by the workshops with the students of Surp Haç Tıbrevank High School.

The annual report, in which you can find all the details about the projects and activities, implemented in 2023 by the Hrant Dink Foundation, is published. You can reach the digital copy of the report.

The Anarad Hığutyun Building has been home to the Hrant Dink Foundation since 2015. Spaces at the building are now available to rent.

The analytical report “Insights beyond borders: Turkey-Armenia relations through public eyes”, which is the result of joint research conducted between 2023-2024 in Turkey and Armenia has been published.

Researchers from Turkey and Armenia participated in study visits in Yerevan and Istanbul in October 2024 and presented the foundation's recent publication.

The 16th International Hrant Dink Award Ceremony was held on Sunday 15 September, 2024. The laureates are Mor Çatı Women’s Shelter Foundation from Turkey and Rugiatu Neneh Turay from Sierra Leone.

On Monday, November 4, 2024 at 18.00 in the Havak Hall of Anarad Hığutyun Building, we brought experts who carry out important works on memorialization and learning practices.

As part of the series organized within the scope of the project “Utilizing Digital Technology for Social Cohesion, Positive Messaging and Peace by Boosting Collaboration, Exchange and Solidarity”, the sixth panel titled ‘Alternative Approaches to Combat Hate Speech and Discrimination’ took place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Hrant Dink Foundation’s Havak Hall.
