Two interactive workshops were held in the Hrant Dink Foundation on the 23rd of February in collaboration with the USC Shoah Foundation.

The first workshop titled “Exploring the Visual History Archive (VHA): From Academia to Community” had led by the Visual History and Education Institute Project Specialist Manuk Avedikyan. Manuk, during the workshop, talked about the oral history archives of the USC Shoah Foundation, which has the world's largest oral history collection with 55,000 interviews and provided information on how the Visual History Archives were classified, what kinds of searches could be made, and how users could access this archive. In the workshop, some of the interviews were examined and the workshop enriched with the questions raised by the participants about how the archive was classified and when these researches have started to be carried out.

The second workshop titled “Best Practices for Teaching with Testimony and Technology” was led by the Education and Outreach Specialist of the USC Shoah Foundation Sedda Antekelian. During this workshop, the participants had the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions and multimedia activities using the IWitness Education platform. Focusing on best practices of witness-based education, the workshop focused on the importance of two separate theories on the experiences and differences of speakers and listeners. During the workshop, a practice was carried out through the IWitness education program. Firstly, a testimony have been watched by the participants and then, after receiving some background information about the witness, the video was re-watched and through this practice, it was aimed to develop a comprehensive understanding about the witness’s life.
