Almost 20 months into a pandemic that has forced us to re-think our meetings, workshops and conferences for an online audience. Not only have the richness of in-person gatherings been lost, but also it becomes more and more difficult to keep audiences engaged in the work amidst an onslaught of online meetings, webinars and workshops people are constantly being bombarded with.
Pandemic has forced people to become facilitators in some shape or form, and yet it is still struggling to create the types of engaging spaces people are used to, regardless of whether they are able to meet in person or not. And so it has become essential to develop the skill of designing and facilitating gatherings well, especially in the human rights sector where the circumstances can be tough and the topics require a human-centred approach.
In this workshop facilitate by Clinton Du Preez the topics that will be covered are;
- How can human connection and empathy be back into the centre of the gatherings, especially in a space that focuses on expanding human rights?
- What it means to be a facilitator, organiser and designer of impactful gatherings?
- How to use different methods and platforms to restore some of the richness and engagement into the online and in-person gatherings in an era of fatigue and distractions?
