The article published in Milli Gazete with the title “Racism is in their DNA” covers the story of African-American George Floyd killed by the police in the US and African-American people’s history in the US. With the remarks “Europeans, who wanted to exploit the continent’s both underground treasure and ground sources and also to turn it into a colony after the discovery, slaughtered millions of natives and assimilated the rest through their efforts of ‘civilizing and Christianizing’ them”, “After black citizen George Floyd was suffocated to death by the racist US police officers, anti-racist protests took the country by storm. However, racism and fascism are nothing new in the US. After Europeans’ arrival to the continent following the discovery, the bloody history of genocide, massacre, slavery, and assimilation started” and the title “Turning into bedlam with anti-racist protests, the US has a long history of racism… Racism is in their DNA!”, all Europeans are associated with violence, exploitation, and racism, and negative judgments about this identity are reinforced.
