In the article published in Samsun Denge with the title “German foundations spread poison”, LGBTIs are repeatedly labelled as “perverts” as we see in the following remarks: “Financing PKK, heretic Alive associations, sources of evil in guise of woman rights advocacy and activities of perverted LGBTIs, Heinrich Böll Foundation now targets our youth” and “Getting ready to poison our youth, who are the future of Turkish nation, with homosexuality, Heinrich Böll Foundation uses its traditional ways.” The article represents LGBTIs as a “threat” against society because of their gender identity and sexual orientation. In this way, the newspaper contributes to normalization and spread of discrimination and violence targeting LGBTIs.
