With the aim of raising awareness and carrying over the experiences of international experts, we strive to organize panels which shed light on the sites of memory and museums which contribute dealing with the past in different countries.
International Coalition of Sites of Conscience is an international network which was established in 1999 in New York. The coalition brings together the museums, the sites of conscience and sites of memory.
While designing a site of memory facilitating an inclusive process and receiving the recommendations and expectations of individuals from different professions, disciplines, and groups lead to valuable contributions.
In March of 2015, the Hrant Dink Foundation and the office of the Agos newspaper moved to the Anarad Hığutyun Building from their old office venue in the Sebat Apartment which had housed both the newspaper and the foundation.
'Curating Memory: Dealing With the Past Through Museums in Europe and South Africa' took place on October 28, 2016 in the Havak Hall at the Hrant Dink Foundation. The panel had four international guests.
The former Agos office where Hrant Dink’s office is located will be turned into a site of memory and conscience. With a special focus on Hrant Dink, the site will be a place where Armenians’ culture and history, minority rights in Turkey, the story of Agos Newspaper will be presented from various angles. Contributing to social dialogue, mutual understanding and promoting dealing with the past are among the aspirations of the site of memory. The site of memory will also function as a site of dialogue and a site of learning with the implementation of innovative and creative education and audience programs.
