The Hrant Dink Foundation Library is composed of the collections of the books that were gathered under the roof of the Hrant Dink Foundation since the day of its establishment. After rounds of selection and processes of cataloging the Library has 6,000 books in its collection. 1,500 of these are in Armenian and the rest are mainly in Turkish. There are also books in English, French, German, Arabic, Ottoman, Greek, Italian and other languages.
The Hrant Dink Foundation Library accepts donations of books and archival materials on topics such as minorities in Turkey, Armenian Studies, Armenian history, culture, language and literature. Donations to the library and the archives are catalogued under the name offered by the donor and they are preserved with utmost care and shared with the public according to the demands of the donors.
The library’s establishment phase was supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Chrest Foundation, received donations from large institutions and individuals such as Haygazyan University, Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Gomidas Institute, Aras Publishing, Türkiye İş Bankası, and still continues to enrich its sources with the new donations.
The books in the library are composed of historical and cultural books containing studies on Anatolian and Istanbul cities; collections such as books containing folk literature studies and 'Houshamadyans' [memoirs]. In addition to these books mentioned, the library hosts the Asulis collection, which includes Turkish and English resources on the concepts of 'discourse' and 'discrimination'.
Visitors of the Hrant Dink Foundation Library can benefit from all of the hard copy material and digital resources at the premises of the Library.
Hrant Dink Foundation Library is open between 10:00 and 18:00 on weekdays and closed on the weekends.
