Hrant Dink Foundaiton's agenda, as in previous years, is in three languages - Turkish, English and Armenian and this year’s theme is ‘Streets’. You can get your agenda from the Hrant Dink Foundation and from 7 January onwards at the bookstores.

The street is the scene of the crowds. It is the medium where the voice of those who have something to say is heard. Those who rise against the powers that be take to the streets; those who want to say “No!”, those who support them, protestors, the happy, the angry, and those who have a purpose to celebrate pour out into the streets.

The 2014 agenda, published by the Hrant Dink Foundation, covers “streets” which bring together both what is similar and different; which, day and night, creates, produces and enters into circulation labor, work, rest, food, music, art, money and entertainment; before all else, where culture, language and politics live and find nutrition, thrive and blossom.

‘Streets 2014’ invites us to look closer at the streets: street artists that demonstrate the depth of the streets; barricades that shout out “The streets are ours!”; Sesame Street’s characters that invite us to love the world; graffiti artists as one of the invisible dissidents; New York Streets from the eyes of Woody Allen; “tolerated” street dogs in the streets of Istanbul; places that dead streets lead to; Taksim Gezi Park where people who ‘wanted something else’ came together; dreams of an Istanbul with bicycle routes…

Agenda 2014: Streets contains fifty three texts, referring to perceptions and experiences of streets in various geographies of the world, accompanied by about 60 visuals. Apart from the official dates for Turkey, the Agenda also features important dates and feasts for Muslims, Alevis, Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, Jews and Kurds.
