After successfully completing its first round in 2024, the application process for the second round of the HDV Minority Rights Academy has started! The program aims to discuss minority rights efforts in Turkey and worldwide, raise awareness, and contribute to developing solution proposals.

The academy's curriculum includes the definition and transformation of the concept of minorities, legal legislation regarding minorities on an international and national basis, the political history of minorities in Turkey and the problems experienced in the implementation of minority rights, comparative studies from different countries, and advocacy strategies. The seminars are built on four main pillars: conceptual framework, historical background, comparative politics, and advocacy.

The HDV Minority Rights Academy brings together experts from different countries and specializations. The program consists of two stages: the first involves a four-day in-person training and the second includes four separate days of online training.

Since the academy program comprises subjects that complement each other, it requires regular participation. Participants who complete the program will be given a participation certificate by the Hrant Dink Foundation. Participants are expected to participate fully in the program and complete various projects during the academy process to receive the certificate. The in-person sessions of the academy will take place at the Hrant Dink Foundation’s Anarad Hığutyun Building in Istanbul from May 23 to May 26, 2025. Since simultaneous interpretation will not be provided for Turkish-language seminars, applicants must be proficient in Turkish. You can watch the video below to hear from our first-term graduates about their experiences at the academy.
