The application process for the academy program of the 'HDV Minority Rights Academy' project has started! The program aims to discuss minority rights studies worldwide and in Turkey, raise awareness on this issue and contribute to shaping solution proposals. We welcome applications from everyone who is interested in the field of minority rights and who has carried out different studies on these issues!

HDV Minority Rights Academy
The curriculum of the academy includes the definition and transformation of the concept of minority, legal legislation regarding minorities on an international and national basis, the political history of minorities in Turkey and the problems experienced in the implementation of minority rights, comparative studies from different countries, and advocacy. The seminars are built on four main pillars: conceptual framework, historical background, comparative politics, and advocacy.

The HDV Minority Rights Academy’s experts consist of people from different countries and specializations. The program has two stages: The first stage includes four days of in-person training, and the second stage contains four separate days of online training. The language of the program is Turkish. Although the content of the program is mostly in Turkish, simultaneous translation will be provided for English seminars and Turkish summaries for English readings.

Since the academy program comprises subjects that complement each other, it requires regular participation. Participants who complete the program will be given a certificate by the Hrant Dink Foundation. Participants are expected to fully participate in the program and complete various projects during the academy process in order to receive a certificate. The academy program will be held face-to-face at the Anarad Hığutyun Building in Istanbul between 7-10 June 2024.

HDV Minority Rights Academy Project Grant Program
Within the scope of the HDV Minority Rights Academy project, participants who have completed their training at the academy will be able to apply for the sub-grant program through their institutions. In line with the general objective of the academy, priority will be given in the grant program to projects that aim to protect minority groups, strengthen minority rights and promote advocacy.

Applications for the sub-grant program will be selected by the selection committee and a detailed selection regulation will be published separately.
