Hrant Dink Foundation continued to the series of events on theatre with an online panel titled ‘Theatres of Istanbul and Beyoğlu’.

The online panel on 2nd of December, Wednesday, gave floor to discussions about the memory of theatre in Istanbul with reference to the theatre buildings, particularly the ones in the Beyoğlu neighborhood which is the oldest cultural center of the city, The panel was moderated by Kevser Güler, curator and director of Yapı Kredi Culture and Arts Exhibitions with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuz Pekman of the University of Istanbul, Department of Theater Critics and Dramaturgy, Prof. Dr. Dikmen Gürün of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Theatre Department and Esen Çamurdan, Founding Member of the Theater Foundation of Turkey.

This discussion also became a guide to the ‘Beyoğlu Theater Tour’, which is available on the KarDes mobile application. The tour which is a journey to the history of the culture and art scene of Beyoğlu was prepared for the IKSV İstanbul Theatre Festival.

The panel also addressed the preparations for the Coulisse Exhibition which opened on 15th of December 2020, with the collaboration of the Hrant Dink Foundation, Theatre Foundation of Turkey and Yapı Kredi Culture, Arts and Publishing, based on the archive of Hagop Ayvaz who toiled in theater for many years.
