Films about Conscience project aims to expose the different colours of conscience via short films produced by both amateurs and professionals. The project hosts 349 short films with more than 7,000 members and thousands of visitors every year since 2010 through the website and invites everyone who can grab a camera to shoot a 5 minute short film to participate, with the motto of “Let’s take a look through our conscience.”

In 2015, in the fifth year of the project, 20 films were selected by the jury consisting of Amat Escalante, Azize Tan, Ercan Kesal, Jay Weissberg, Rakel Dink, Şebnem İşigüzel, Tuğrul Eryılmaz and Zeynep Özbatur Atakan.These 20 short films were put together in a DVD and were screened at the International Istanbul Film Festival, Gaziantep International Zeugma Film Festival, Lake Van International Film Festival , Yerevan International Film Festival, International Izmir Short Film Festival, Short Film Festival in Ayvalık, including special screenings at many universities.

Also in 2015, the theme ‘Conscience’ became one of the sections at the International Istanbul Film Festival. Films about Conscience project was celebrated at a Happy Hour organised at the Anarad Hığıtyun Building within the framework of the Festival, with cooperation of IKSV,and brought together many directors, jury members as well as the guests of the International Istanbul Film Festival. In the sixth edition of the project, which started on March 31st and ended on November 30th, a total of 27 conscience and #AllWeHaveDestroyed-theme short films were uploaded on website by producers and filmmakers from Turkey and abroad. Between these dates, thousands of people from all over the world not only watched the but also rated, commented and shared these films. The international jury,—was consisted of Defne Halman, Eren Keskin, Jülide Aral, Margarethe von Trotta, Rakel Dink, Semih Kaplanoğlu ve Sevin Okyay. Only Margarethe von Trotta could not attend the jury’s voting meeting due to her film production schedule... As a result of evaluation 16 selected films were announced on January, 2016. The results were shared with the print and broadcast media. Additionally, Burkay Doğan, the director of ‘Nylon Bag’ about the Saturday Mothers film, received the highest score from the jury.

The top 16 films, which are listed below concerned with many issues such as Saturday Mothers, the bomb attack in Ankara, education system, warfare, militarism, gender, genocide, curfew, conscience, gender equality, among many others. The selected films will be collected in a DVD to meet viewers in various festivals.
