Attorney Diran Bakar has spent most of his 40 years career fighting against the injustices caused by the confiscation of properties owned by the non-Muslim community foundations.

In an interview with Hrant Dink in 2002, Mr.Bakar said “I have struggled with the 36 Declaration dedicating my years; therefore I consider even a slightest improvement as a positive step”. This demonstrates how determined and dedicated he was in his fight with injustice.

Diran Bakar, who was the first publisher and chief editor of Agos weekly, passed away on March 30th, 2009.
