The eighth of the workshop series organized within the scope of the project titled ‘Utilizing Digital Technology for Social Cohesion, Positive Messaging and Peace by Boosting Collaboration, Exchange and Solidarity’ will be held on April 29-30, 2024 at the Hrant Dink Foundation.

The workshop 'Civil Society and Artificial Intelligence', organized in collaboration with Digital.pro and facilitated by Özgür Mehmet Kütküt and Özgür Kurtuluş, aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees in civil society organizations regarding artificial intelligence, facilitate the integration of AI tools into their fields, and raise awareness about the possible societal impacts of artificial intelligence.

The issues to be covered in the workshop:

  • Fundamentals and applications of artificial intelligence
  • Productive artificial intelligence tools: Gemini, ChatGPT
  • Applications of artificial intelligence in civil society
  • Artificial intelligence productivity tools: Visual, video, audio, music, presentation, transcription
  • Prompt writing techniques and examples
  • Societal impacts of artificial intelligence
  • Resources, sample prompts, and guides for artificial intelligence literacy


The workshop will be in Turkish, there will be no translation.
Workshop participation is limited to 15 people.
Full attendance is expected for both days of the workshop.
Equipment will be required during the workshop. You are expected to bring a laptop with you in case of participation.
Due to limited capacity, only one person from each civil society organization can participate.

Facilitators:  

Özgür Mehmet Kütküt


After getting his bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, he completed his master's degree in the Sociology Department at METU. He worked in the Association of Civil Society Development Center (STGM) from 2009 to 2020. After fulfilling roles as an assistant and general coordinator, he established and led the STGM Digital Affairs department, where he designed and conducted digital empowerment training. He played a key role in the initiation of activities for the TechSoup Turkey Software Donation Program. Since 2017, he has been collaborating with various public institutions and private organizations as part of Google Turkey's educational consultants, delivering training sessions on behalf of Google Turkey. Continuing his work as a trainer, expert, consultant, and content developer under the Dijital.pro brand, he remains engaged with numerous civil society organizations in the fields of digital communication, remote education, digital advocacy, digital empowerment, and artificial intelligence.

Özgür Kurtuluş


Özgür Kurtuluş received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at METU and completed his master's degree in the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department at Ankara University's Faculty of Communication. After gaining seven years of experience in the corporate field at IT companies, he founded the digital agency Kamra Interactive in 2006. He developed campaign design and management, account management, and content development projects in digital marketing, content marketing, and social media for over 100 institutions. Since 2018, under the Dijital.pro brand, he has been providing education and consultancy services in digital transformation and capacity building for public institutions and civil society organizations. Kurtuluş designs and manages corporate social responsibility projects aimed at enhancing digital capacity. He also delivers training in digital communication and governance, social media, data literacy, artificial intelligence literacy, and social entrepreneurship.
