The sixth of the workshop series organized within the scope of the project titled ‘Utilizing Digital Technology for Social Cohesion, Positive Messaging and Peace by Boosting Collaboration, Exchange and Solidarity’ will be held on April 2, 2024 at the Hrant Dink Foundation.
In this workshop facilitated by Elida Zylbeari, young participants between the ages of 16 and 22 will learn fundamental concepts about digital media literacy, gain awareness about types of information pollution, observe the impact of algorithms on the spread of false information through examples, and experience different verification techniques through interactive exercises.
The issues to be covered in the workshop:
- Identifying different types of information pollution
- The importance of digital media literacy
- Safe methods for obtaining digital information
- Increasing awareness about safe social media usage
- Detection of digital threats and disinformation
The workshop will be held in English. There will be simultaneous translation.
Workshop participation is limited to 20 people. Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 22.
The duration of the workshop is 2 hours.

Facilitator:
Elida Zylbeari is a project coordinator at Metamorphosis Foundation in North Macedonia with broad experience in planning and implementing project activities related to freedom of speech and strengthening media. She is the editor of news contents, mentoring journalists and fact-checkers. Zylbeari is a certified trainer for media literacy and countering disinformation. Since 2012, she has been the editor in chief of the Albanian news portal Portalb, and since 2020, she has been the editor in chief of the Albanian version of the fact-checking platform Truthmeter. She has been a panelist at various national and international conferences on issues concerning freedom of speech and media, media literacy, digital and investigative journalism, good governance, and transparency.
