The fourth of the workshop series organized under the scope of the project called “Utilizing Digital Technology for Social Cohesion, Positive Messaging and Peace by Boosting Collaboration, Exchange and Solidarity” will be held on 4th May at Hrant Dink Foundation.
Today’s information environment is full of dubious and false claims. Some of these are simple but effective manipulations of context while others are the product of sophisticated digital manipulation and fabrication. With so many sources of information coming at us every day, how can people know what’s true? How can we determine the authenticity and accurate context of photos and videos we encounter online? And what tools exist to vet claims made by anonymous users across social media?
In this workshop, you’ll reflect on how disinformation works, why it appeals to us, and learn key skills, tools and strategies for fact-checking information like a pro.
- The workshop will be held in English. There will be simultaneous translation.
- Workshop participation is limited to 20 people. Participants must be between the ages of 18-20.
- The duration of the workshop is 2 hours.
- You can fill out the registration form to participate in the workshop.
