He labels LGBTIs as a social “threat” due to their sexual orientation and gender identity as we see in the following remark: “And then all kinds of perverted groups and persons like lesbians, trans people and gays will regard perversion as a right to choose and turn it into a global cause.” LGBTI people are repeatedly pointed as “pervert” throughout the column and prejudices and enmity against them is incited. |

3.Ayhan Demir in his column titled “Stop this cruelty”, criticizes the oppression of Rohingya people, but he holds an entire religious group responsible for the oppressive policies of the Myanmar state with the description “Buddhists gangs”. Demir also associates Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Western identities with violence and massacre: “Christians, Jews and Buddhist are not fighting against each other anymore; they are getting together and attacking Muslim world. They are occupying Muslim lands on one hand and trying to get rid of Muslims among them on the other hand. There is more. They label the Muslims who try to protect their lands, lives, dignity and honor as ‘terrorists’” and “The saddest part is: Westerners never pay the price for their crimes. They always get away with it.” Thus, the author incites hatred against Christians, Jews, Buddhists and Westerners. |
4.The article published in Star with the title “Arabs betrayed Jerusalem” reports the policies of Arabic countries that have relationship with Israel by attributing them to the entire Arabic identity. The word “betray” reinforces historical prejudices. Thus, the newspaper reinforces negative opinions about Arabs and incites enmity. |
