2.

Anadolu'da Vuslat, January 11, 2018

Rüstem Budak, in his column titled “GIAOUR”, writes: “Giaours was the name given to non-Muslim communities. Afterwards, new giaours emerged. These giaours were native. It would be difficult to tell the native giaours from other giaours. Since we lost this distinction, we cannot call the infidel ‘infidel’, and we cannot call the cruel ‘cruel’. Identity cannot be built without descriptions and definitions. Truth won’t be revealed unless we call these giaours ‘giaour’ and make these giaours known as giaour.” With these remarks, he escalates the perception of enmity concerning non-Muslims by using the word giaour which is used as an expression of hatred and defamation for non-Muslims in Turkey.

3.

Milli Gazete, January 9, 2018

In the article published in Milli Gazete with the title “MUSLIMS SPEND THEIR LIVES ON ROADS”, the entire Buddhist identity is hold responsible for the assaults and violence in Myanmar as we see in the summary: “Rohingya Muslims, who escaped from terrorism and genocide carried out by Buddhists in Myanmar and are left alone by the entire world, are trying to take shelter in Bangladesh which doesn’t want them.” Thus, the newspaper portrays Buddhists as enemies by associating them with violence.

The article published in Yeni Söz with the title “We will expel the ones who don’t love Israel on the front page and with the title “Merkel acting like a servant of Jews” inside asks “Is the deranged Merkel also a Jew?” and contains expressions like “servant of Jews”.
