27th Round Results

During the June - July 2026 application period, the Türkiye-Armenia Travel Grant received 85 applications from both countries. We are delighted to announce that throughout this time period, with the support of the European Union, the Hrant Dink Foundation offered travel grants to a total of 14 individuals - 2 from Armenia and 12 from Türkiye - for their visits to the neighboring country with a specific purpose and programme.

Agnesa Tariverdyan, a project assistant at the Cultural and Social Narratives Laboratory (CSN Lab) in Yerevan, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Istanbul to meet with CSN Lab’s long-standing partners, including representatives of the Hafıza Merkezi, and Postane, to discuss ongoing collaborations, develop new joint initiatives, and conduct exploratory research for CSN Lab’s dialogue programme on the cultural and social dimensions of Armenian-Turkish dialogue and the Armenia - Türkiye border.

Hadiye Özdemir, an industrial designer and lecturer at Istanbul Okan University from Istanbul, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Yerevan to develop academic and professional connections in the fields of design, cultural heritage, museums, and education through visits to the Furniture Salon EXPO, Yerevan Modern Art Museum, Electric Architects, and the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia.

Büşra Aydagün, founder of Kirte School from Çanakkale, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Yerevan to take part in the Nest Artist-in-Residence Program, organized by the Institute for Contemporary Art Yerevan, including the creation of video art, cultural research, and engagement with individuals and organizations for potential future collaborations.

Orhun Yalçın, a doctoral researcher at the University of Munich (LMU) from Ankara, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Yerevan to participate in and present his research at the International Conference “Contested Pasts, Uncertain Future(s): Heritage, Memory, and History”, organised by the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology and the Institute of Humanities Research at Yerevan State University.

Tane Alper, a teacher, and her students Aden Ünver and Zeynep Ersoy from Mehmet Zakir Ekni Anatolian High School in Ankara, were awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Yerevan to participate in COP17 through the Centre for Global Education (CGE) programme.

Ilgaz Berk Atasever, a participant in the Memory and Youth Program of the Truth Justice Memory Center from Istanbul, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Talin, Aparan, and Ashtarak to conduct a memory study and fieldwork on the “Yarkhushta” dance in collaboration with the Cultural and Social Narratives Laboratory (CSN Lab).

Ruzan Petrosyan, a multidisciplinary independent artist from Yerevan, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Istanbul to participate in the 4th International Short Film, Video and Photography Symposium as an international guest artist, including the presentation of her video works as part of the Videoartist selection.

Mehmet Akif Koç, an advisor, columnist, analyst, commentator and host at the Ekopolitik Think Tank and Analysis Portal from Ankara, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant for a visit to Yerevan to conduct field research and a series of meetings with experts working on Armenia-Türkiye relations, regional politics, and cross-border cooperation, with the aim of developing content that can deepen public understanding of Armenia and contribute to a more constructive conversation on two countries' relations. 

Artists Cengiz Tekin from Diyarbakır, Fatma Betül Özkan and Eda Kalkan from Istanbul were awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant to organise their NORARALIK exhibition project in Yerevan in collaboration with the Johannissyan Institute, through which they aim to  establish lasting professional relationships with artists and art professionals in Armenia, create opportunities for future joint exhibitions and projects, and strengthen cultural dialogue by interacting with the local art community through exchange of knowledge and experience.

Betül Çelik, a master’s student in architecture from İzmir, was awarded the Türkiye - Armenia Travel Grant to carry out field research in Yerevan for her thesis on how shared cultural heritage is experienced, maintained and remembered across Türkiye and Armenia. Through site visits, architectural documentation and photography, including research at Sevanavank Monastery and a short residency at the Institute for Contemporary Art Yerevan, she will develop a visual narrative on heritage and memory while building academic and cultural connections.
