Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant continues to increase direct contacts and to promote cooperation between the peoples of the two neighbouring countries.

In the ninth round of the Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant, we received a total of 110 applications from both countries. We are delighted to announce that in this round, the Hrant Dink Foundation will be offering support in the form of a travel grant to a total of 49 individuals21 from Armenia, 28 from Turkey – for their visits to the neighbouring country with specific purpose and programme.

Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant 9th Round Grantees

Nebahat Akkoç and Sebahat Beskisiz from Diyarbakır, Ayşenur Gedik from Izmir, Haskar Erdoğan from Dersim, and Begüm Baki from Istanbul, members of KAMER Foundation, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for meeting representatives of Women’s Resource Center NGO, sharing experiences, knowledge and methods of KAMER Foundation and discussing women’s issues in the two countries.

Bezen Coşkun from Izmir, Turkey Operations Officer at Glocally Connected, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for meeting civil society organisations in Armenia for a project on non-western conflict resolution models/approaches.

Gevorg Hakobyan, Armen Hovhannisyan, Mher Martikyan, Armen Tadevosyan and Taron Grigoryan from Gyumri, members of Aratta Band, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Istanbul, for holding   a number of concerts and visiting some schools to conduct open lessons on Armenian music for school children.

Azniv Tadevsoyan from Gyumri, Levon Mkrtchyan, Christina Suciasova, Hasmik Asatryan, Marineh Gevorgian and Gayane Ghazaryan from Yerevan, Sasun Minasyan from Sevan, Arpi Khachaturyants from Charentsavan, Hamlet Gyurjyan from Nor Hachen, photographers and participants of the photojournalism programme ‘’Bridging Stories’’, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Istanbul, for taking part in the photography exhibition “Bridging Stories” which aims at bringing together young photographers from Armenia and Turkey.

Bekir Emre Öğüt, Haydar Taştan and Ege Batuhan Akgül from Istanbul, photographers and participants of the photojournalism programme ‘’Bridging Stories’’, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for joining the photo exhibition organized within the framework of the mentioned programme.

Tarkan Kaynar from Balıkesir, food writer at Oğlak Yayınları, will be supported by the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for making research on Armenian food culture and herbages.

Yusuf Nar and Veysel Kavak from Konya, will be supported with travel grant to visit Yerevan, for their research on LGBT rights, their legal status in Armenia, and for meeting with Armenian civil society organisations.

Fulya Çeşme from Diyarbakır, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for meeting with teachers and teachers’ unions, especially those who work on the development of Kurdish textbooks.

Ercan Yılmaz from Kayseri, will be supported by the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for meeting Armenian Writers Association and meeting Armenian writers.

Elif Akçay and Tayfun Dalkılıç from Eskişehir, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for meeting with artists and associations in order to make arrangements for their future art projects.

Vedat Akçayöz from Kars, president of Kars Culture and Art Association, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Vanadzor, for making research on Ani Ruins and Molokans, Doukhobor.

Ayşegül Özadak and Tuğçe Özdemir from Istanbul, storytellers at Curious Steps: Gender and Memory Tours organised by Sabanci University Gender Forum, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for researching on common songs of both societies and conducting interviews with some volunteers from local CSOs to reveal the meaning of these songs.

Ashot Soghomonyan, Shushan Khachatryan, Tehmina Avagyan, Valeri Muradyan and Vardan Khachatryan from Yerevan, representatives of the Kilikia Tour, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Istanbul, for taking part in 21st East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT EXPO) with “Gagik Tour” from Van, Turkey.

From Çanakkale, members of Pan Visual Culture and Art Association, will be supported by the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for continuing their photography project “Leave Borders Behind”.

Adem Özgür and Aykut Gündoğdu from Konya, members of Education, Social Assistance and Solidarity for Kurds living in Central Anatolia Association, will be supported by the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for collecting audio-visual data and stories on disappearing culture from the rural areas inhabited by the Kurdish and Yazidi people.

Ahmet Tunç from Ankara, a student at Bilkent University and a volunteer at AIESEC Turkey, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for taking part in an AIESEC Armenia event on raising awareness on intercultural learning among high school students.

Fatih Atlı from Hatay, vice-president at Erzin Educational Research, Development and Dissemination Association (EEAYAD), will be supported with travel grant to visit Yerevan, for getting acquainted with educational institutions and activities in Armenia.

Serhan Karataş from Izmir, member of Young Society Initiative, will be supported with the travel grant to visit Yerevan, for meeting and networking with youth organisations and for developing a training course on conflict resolution and human rights.

Alexan George Kalayji and Liana Grigoryan from Yerevan, members of the Department of Diaspora Studies at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography in Armenia, will be supported with travel grant to visit Istanbul, for meeting some representatives from the Armenian community in Istanbul and establishing basis for collaboration for their “Hate Speech’’ project.

Asya Orhan from Bursa, nominated by United World College Turkish National Committee, will be supported with the travel grant to study at UWC Dilijan College during Spring Semester, 2017.
