23.5 Hrant Dink Site of Memory, while carrying the memory with all its truth to the future acts as a space that encourages dialogue, sharing and imagination of a future together, turns one year old on 23.5 April 2020On the occasion of its birthday, we will organize an online conversation with artist Sarkis who designed ‘Salt and Light’ installation in the balcony of Hrant Dink’s office at 23.5.

The theme of childhood will be on the main axis of his talk and it will be addressed in the light of his works that carry the traces of his childhood at Çaylak Sokak and also of ‘Respiro’ exhibited at the Venice Biennale. The talk will also shed light on Edvard Munch’s ‘Scream’ (1893), which was an inspiration for Sarkis’ video ‘In the Beginning, the Scream, 24.02.1998'* and his oil painting over photograph entitled as ‘2018.09.03 Munch 18930’.**

*The video named In the Beginning, the Scream, 24.02.1998 can be watched online in the selection of ARTER Collection named #playathome until 15.05.2020.
**The artwork entitled as 2018.09.03 Munch 18930 can be seen in the selection called One Artwork a Week within the newsletter of Galerie Nathalie Obadia.
