Students participating in the Swedish Summer School organized by the Swedish Research Institute since 2013 and supported by Swedish Consulate,visited Hrant Dink Site of Memory on the 25th of June. During their visit, the students received information about the historical background of the Hrant Dink Site of Memory, the activities implemented within the scope of the preparatory phase and the work that is being conducted to design the memory site. Following a fruitful discussion about memory, remembrance and practices of dealing with the past the students shared their recommendations about the Hrant Dink Site of Memory.
Following an exchange of ideas, a workshop on memory using the photolanguage methodology was conducted with the students. During the workshop the students were provided with a selection of photos, each student was asked to pick up a photo which represented either hope, either memory or solidarity. After making a selection each student penned down why the photo that they selected represented hope, memory or solidarity. After placing the photos and notes on the board, the students made a presentation about their selections.
