In this panel discussion Linda Norris, the global networks program director of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience which is an international network that brings together institutions and initiatives active in the fields of conscience and memory sites, museums, and memorialisation works, will talk about building the Sites of Conscience Movement. Katia Chornik will present the digital project Cantos Cautivos through which the music that was used both as a tool for resistance and domination in political detention centres operated in Chile during the dictatorship of Pinochet is archived. Chornik will also highlight the contributions of the project to collective memory and to human rights education.
Director of War Childhood Museum in Sarajevo, Amina Krvavac will present the museum which emerged from an interactive project that aimed to collect the memories of the children survivors of the war in Sarajevo. In her presentation she will discuss the role of the museum as a tool for peacebuilding.
