The Hrant Dink Foundation Library recently acquired publications of the Gomidas Institute. With the generous support of the Armenian Communities Department of Caouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the full collection of the Gomidas Institute publications are now accessible in the Library.

The Gomidas Institute is an independent academic organisation dedicated to modern Armenian and regional studies.  Established at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) in 1992, it began with the publication of books and evolved into a major institution undertaking research, lectures, conferences and exhibitions. The Institute is currently based in London and its executive director is Ara Sarafian.

Covering a great range of topics in the Armenian Studies, the titles include translations and original research, monographs, edited books, literature, memories and much more. The time-span of the covered topics is also vast, ranging from the Ottoman era to the modern day.

In this collection you can learn about the Armenian women writers and the writers of disaster. You can indulge yourself in the epic story of Tork Angegh or read the 1915 memories of the missionaries. Archival works include American, British, Vatican and Andonyan’s documents. Caucasus Chronicles of Chrysanthopoulos is specially interesting to understand the day-to-day dynamics of the Karabakh war. Diyarbekir, Adana, Sasson, Marzovan-Merzifon, Bardizag-İzmit and many more cities and regions can be found in the collection.

You can reach the Gomidas Institute collection here.
