The full pages of history stand for past events, whereas the blank ones correspond to what is yet to be experienced.
And now once again, our common fate in Turkish-Armenian relations, with a centuries-long past and a centuries-long future ahead, is before us.
Sometimes well, sometimes not, our forefathers filled the pages they were given.
The real issue is how we will fill these blank pages today.
Will we act like those responsible of the great catastrophe of the past, or will we learn from those mistakes and write new pages worthy of civilized humanity?
This is the greatest responsibility placed before us.
Those who refrain from acting on this responsibility, or who want to fill these pages with malign and painful experiences are in actual fact no less terrible than those responsible of the painful experiences of the past.
And we, those who feel the responsibility, must not allow them and not leave the writing of these pages in the monopoly of those who will fill them up in the same manner as the past.
