Within the scope of the Hrant Dink Foundation History Program, the public talk titled “Imagining Justice through Oral History” was held in Anarad Hığutyun Building on Wednesday, June 12 at 18.30, with the participation of Columbia Global Centers | Istanbul.

Hrant Dink Foundation hosted Zoe West, a professor at Columbia University, and Bikem Ekberzade, a journalist, for the talk.
Both talked about their experience in gathering and publish works of oral history. Zoe West and moderator Bikem Ekberzade introduced their work, which included several books written through deep interviews undertaken on several continents. Zoe West also talked about ethical loneliness, which covers the feeling that no one is listening to someone’s experiences of an atrocity, or that no action has been taken. Within the framework of oral history for justice, participants were encouraged to ask questions and to think about how the richness of oral history could be used in their own projects.
