In the "Embroidering Memories" workshop, led by artist Damla Sandal, we will explore the everyday life, spaces, and people depicted in old photographs by embroidering on them. Through this process, we will aim to establish a connection between the photographs and the moments we experience today.
Participants will reinterpret photographs that serve as "reminders" by embellishing them with embroidery.

Workshop Details: Participants are asked to bring a photograph to embroider. This photograph can be a personal memory from their own album or a photo found at a market or secondhand shop.
During the workshop, while embroidering on the photograph, we will discuss its connection to human rights from your perspective (such as solidarity, achievements, violations, etc.). All additional materials required for embroidery will be provided by us.

Materials: All necessary materials will be provided. You only need to bring a photograph. If you don’t have a printed version of your photo, you can upload a scanned copy in the registration form, and we will print it for the workshop.

  • Registration: Please fill out the form to register.
  • The workshop is limited to 15 participants and will last 2 hours.
  • The workshop language is Turkish.
