In this third webinar Hakan Özgül and İdil Seda Ak from Toplumsal Haklar ve Araştırmalar Derneği will be our guest speakers. We will talk about issues faced by people with disabilities and civil society organizations working on disability rights in the midst of the pandemic.
The webinar entitled Civil society during and after pandemic - 3: “Disability rights, difficulties and solutions” will be on 20th of May, Wednesday at 16.00 (Turkey time).
The participation will be available through Zoom meeting and will also be broadcasted live on Facebook channel of the Foundation in Turkish.
The event will be in Turkish. There will be also sign language translation. Simultaneous interpretation into Armenian will be provided during the webinar within Zoom. Simultaneous interpretation will not be broadcasted.

Hakan Özgül Since 2000, he has worked as a consultant and manager in various civil society organizations. He is still working as a project coordinator at Toplumsal Haklar ve Araştırmalar Derneği. He has participated in reporting activities of the United Nations and the European Union. Özgül is working on human rights of persons with disabilities in law. He has publications and articles in the field of diability rights, has prepared numerous accessibility reports on many different institutions and organizations and took part in various educational activities. |
İdil Seda Ak İdil Seda Ak has received her bachelor degree from Boğaziçi University and completed her master degree at Middle East Technical University. The right to education of individuals with disabilities, special education and integration practices, the rights of women with disabilities, children with disabilities, independent life, equal recognition of persons with disabilities before the law are her main areas of study. She worked as a researcher at the Handas Institute in France and at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz in Austria on Article 24, the right to education, of UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. After returned to Turkey, Ak worked at the Ministry of Education General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services for a short time. Ak is the board member of Engelli Kadın Derneği (ENGKAD) and Toplumsal Haklar ve Araştırmalar Derneği(TOHAD). She is the founding member of Network of Rights of Children with Disabilites which is supported by UNICEF. She is still working as a consultant at INGEV and part-time instructor at Bogazici University and Medipol University. |
