This book contains 16 of the papers prepared for presentation at the 'Social, Cultural and Economic History of Kayseri and the Region' conference which was planned to take place at the Hrant Dink Foundation Anarad Hığutyun Building on October 18-19, 2019 but was banned.

Kayseri and the region is an area that has deeply experienced the demographic, economic, political, and cultural fractures before and after the founding of the Republic. The story of Kayseri between 1850-1950 can also be considered a summary of our country's social transformation. The book contains a selection of papers prepared for the conference 'Social, Cultural and Economic History of Kayseri and the Region' which could not be presented when the conference was banned.
We hope these papers, which are of an inter-disciplinary nature, contribute to the efforts of approaching the traumatic transformation of Kayseri and the region from a comprehensive and critical perspective.
