Dumpling Festival, which was held as part of the Dumpling Post which is conceived with the collaboration of the Istanbul Biennial, Hrant Dink Foundation and 23.5 Hrant Dink Site of Memory and published within the scope of the 17th Istanbul Biennial organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) took place with the participation of hundreds of guests on 22 October 2022, Saturday at the Hrant Dink Foundation Anarad Hıgutyun Building.
The Dumpling Festival was a continuation of the ‘Kayseri Dumpling Festival’, which has been a source of inspiration for the Dumpling Post and was organised by the Hrant Dink Foundation on 26 October 2019 in Istanbul as a space of resistance and solidarity against bans.
Within the scope of the festival, where cultural diversity were celebrated around the unifying power of food and culinary cultures, dumplings were kneaded and eaten together with solidarity, accompanied by a talk on ‘Food and Multiculturalism’ and songs performed in different languages by a multicultural youth choir, KoroBiz.
The speakers of talk on ‘Food and Multiculturalism’ are Sasa Aslanoğlu, Lian Penso Benbasat, Özge Samancı, Takuhi Tovmasyan, Aylin Yazıcıoğlu with the moderation of Ayşe Gül Altınay.
