PROPOSED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Bahçeşehir University Centre for Economic and Social Research (Betam) is a research centre created to establish a deep-rooted scientific research tradition in Turkey, with the aim of becoming a research platform that is recognized and referred to both in Turkey and abroad in this field. To this end, BETAM has created the academic environment and the resources, technology and human resources infrastructure necessary for researching Turkey's economic and social issues. At the Centre, using scientific methodology, applied research is carried out on the economic and social problems of Turkey, existing policies are evaluated based on research findings, and alternative policy recommendations are developed. All research and published reports that are carried out with the purpose of raising the social and economic welfare levels of the society are open to the universities, research centres, academics and the public in Turkey and abroad.

Our centre consists of two main sections: The "Economic Research" section focuses on researching economy policies in Turkey and in the world, and developing relevant policy recommendations; the "Social Research" section focuses on the cultural, social and political structure of the Turkish society and the country's international relations.

BETAM periodically accepts guest researchers from various international organisations.

Guest researcher, besides his/her own research work, is expected to prepare a research brief and a working paper based on this research during his/her visit to Betam.

EXPECTED PROFILE 

Candidates are required to complete a PhD programme or pass doctoral proficiency examination (all but dissertation). Applicants are required to send their CV and 1 page research proposal.

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Guest fellow is free to organize his/her own activity days and hours in consultation with Betam.
