PROPOSED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Armavir Development Center NGO is currently implementing a three--year programme titled “Community based services for children with disability” financed by Save the Children. Within the framework of the programme, a center has been established, which provides various services for children with disabilities. Considering the services provided as well as the requirement for some new methods and approaches for this specific target group, ADC would like to invite a specialist of occupational therapy to conduct ergo-physical therapy both for children with disabilities and trainings for the specialists of the center.
ADC emphasizes the importance of enabling cross-border learning opportunities in this area, where exchange of expertise and lasting cooperation in much needed.
EXPECTED PROFILE
It is expected that the professional’s experience, skills and capacities will be shared with the specialists in Armenia, who will learn and develop their skills in the field of children with disabilities. Besides, the fellowship will give an opportunity to enhance the partnership among specialists, experts, civil society organisations from Armenia and Turkey, and help them pursue their activities in both countries in a more effective and successful manner. ADC will have much to gain and learn from partners from Turkey and is looking forward to more occasions of cooperation in the future.
The fellow is expected to have:
- a good command of English
- at least 3 years of experience in ergo-physical therapy
- experience in working with children with disabilities
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The fellow is expected to conduct his/her activity at the Center for Children with Disabilities from Monday to Friday, 7 hours a day. The fellow will be off during the public holidays of Armenia and Turkey.
PROPOSED TIME FOR THE FELLOWSHIP (OCTOBER 2016 – JUNE 2017)
ADC will be pleased to host a fellow for 4 months from February – May 2017.
