PROPOSED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Civil Society Institute (CSI) is a non-governmental organization based in Yerevan which aims to assist and promote the establishment of a free and democratic society in Armenia. Established in 1998 and formerly known as the Civil Society Development Union, CSI has implemented a series of programs, research and publications surrounding the principles of democracy and human rights.
CSI is the Armenian member organization of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH). Since its founding, CSI has worked on and continues to carry out programs revolving around the following initiatives:
- Civil society development
- Penal system reforming
- Human rights advocacy and awareness
- Peacebuilding and conflict resolutionCapacity building of youth
CSI is looking for a fellow to conduct a research on the situation of refugees in Armenia and Turkey in current refugee crisis; to interview experts, refugees, to carry out onsite visits and other related activities.
The aim of the research is to present the situation and impact of the refugee crisis on people’s life in Turkey and Armenia, attitudes towards refugees, challenges faced, stories of those who moved from Turkey to Syria and now to Armenia or back to Turkey because of the war in Syria.

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The fellow is expected to be present at Civil Society Institute NGO on weekdays from Monday to Friday between 10:30-18.30. The fellow will be free during the public holidays in Armenia.
PROPOSED TIME FOR THE FELLOWSHIP (JANUARY – JUNE 2017)
4 months either from January to April, 2017, or from February to May, 2017.
