Uniq is a contemporary art gallery based in Istanbul. The gallery aspires to build up bridges that formerly haven’t been built up within the Turkish contemporary art scene, to develop a certain artistic understanding that is rather organised through the theory of aesthetics, to lead a younger generation of artists and art appreciators and to strenghten the inter-generational connections within the Turkish art circles. Uniq aims contemporary art to be commended by larger populations and quality Turkish contemporary art to be acknowledged internationally.

The fellow is going to take part in a project consisting of Armenian and Turkish contemporary artists.

Theme of the project is open to proposal from scholar curators.

The titles we will propose might be "Disappeared and Disappearing Professions" with the diversity in which non-Muslim minorities are predominant, different religions and languages, different traditions and perceptions of life are prevalent within the master-apprentice relationship, "Neighborhood", which is the theme of this year's biennial that focuses on keeping together and "Tatavla (Kurtuluş)", which is recently the most preferred, and multicultural district to live in.

As Uniq Gallery, we will provide a working space to scholar in the gallery. We will introduce her/him to artists and art professionals.
