Department of Diaspora Studies at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of National Academy of Sciences (Department of Diaspora Studies of NAS) aims to create necessary analytical resources for the study of modern Diaspora. The Department pursues the following objectives: to explore the economic, social and spiritual potential of the various parts of the Armenian population worldwide; to seek ways of unifying the nation in the face of both nationwide and specific issues; to develop strategies for preserving and strengthening the national identity.
- The fellow should attend the seminars, which will be held in our Department.
- The fellow should provide a series of lectures on immigration and ethnic groups
- Visit institutions and interviews with different public prominent figures.
Note: The organisation is interested in a joint research held in Armenia, Turkey and Germany; the social, psychological, economic and cultural adaptation processes of ethnic groups and integration perspectives.
This includes the social relationships of ethnic groups in foreign environments, cultural peculiarities and manifestations in different fields.

Education: MA and PHD
Professional background: Sociologist and social anthropologist
Languages: English, Turkish, Armenian and Russian
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The fellow is expected to be present at the office from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 – 18:00, days off are weekends, as well as public holidays in Armenia.
PROPOSED TIME FOR THE FELLOWSHIP
The preferable duration for the fellowship is 4 months between February 2018 – May 2018.
