The Civilitas Foundation contributes to peace and stability in the Caucasus and beyond, guided by the principle of consistent, open and objective discourse, utilizing cultural, educational and political dialogue, cutting edge technologies, and aiming to include the resources of the global Armenian community. The Foundation’s goals of generating and fostering innovative ideas and initiatives and assisting or creating the mechanisms and institutions that bring them to fruition are met through four major program areas: Democracy and Development, Media, Towards a Neighborhood, Policy Inquiry.
Civilitas Foundation / CivilNet.am online TV is looking for a fellow to do research and reporting at the organisation.
The incumbent is supposed to do research and reporting on Armenia-Turkey issues, Turkish domestic developments and Azerbaijan in English.
He/she will work as a team member and will contribute to CivilNet’s daily and weekly reporting.
He/she is expected to provide consultancy and translation to CivilNet’s news team on Turkey related issues, follow Turkish academic and think tank institutions discourse on Armenia/Armenians related issues.
He/she is encouraged to identify individual human stories in the context of Armenia-Turkey relations to be covered by CivilNet.
Any other topic for reporting and research would be welcomed by CivilNet.
EXPECTED PROFILE
- Education: Higher education in Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences etc.
- Professional background: Experience of research in academia or media.
- Languages: Very good knowledge of English and Turkish, working knowledge of Azerbaijani language.
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The fellow will be based at the office of Civilitas Foundation in downtown Yerevan and will be supported by other team members in his/her daily fellowship activity.
The schedule is flexible and can be discussed upon incumbent’s arrival or before.
The fellowship will be implemented in Yerevan, Armenia.
PROPOSED TIME FOR THE FELLOWSHIP
4 to 8 months between October 2017 - May 2018, but a duration of 8 months is more favourable.
