Armenian Progressive Youth (APY) is a non-profit, non-political organisation aiming to support, inspire and engage young people from Armenia and all over the world to develop their social leadership skills, to take their civic responsibility and to act as change-makers. Through different projects, initiatives and non-formal education tools APY helps young people to succeed, ensuring that they develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and competences to fit to the modern world.
The fellow will be engaged in the management and implementation of the program “EN.PACT” which is an empowerment program that APY implements in 10 regions of Armenia. The fellow will be asked to carry out the following activities:
- Providing support to the Project Manager, including preparation of the program activities, meetings events, implementation phase and evaluation;
- Conducting project related meetings, communication with program partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders;
- Managing administrative aspects of the program;
- Developing and maintaining contact databases; organising meetings and events;
- Helping with paper work and reporting;
- Scheduling appointments and meetings and managing the calendar of project activities;
- Supporting the Educational Supervisor in producing and preparing educational materials, participant lists, travel timetables, name tags;
- Writing letters and sending them to appropriate bodies, and receives incoming mails;
- Creating specific strategies for easier and effective execution of projects;
- Maintaining contacts with potential stakeholders who may be interested in investing in projects;
- Keeping records of all information related to project for documentation, clarification and presentation to management;
EXPECTED PROFILE
- Education: Higher education in the fields of European Studies, Project Management, Conflict Management, Foreign Languages, Public Administration, Social Sciences or any related field;
- Professional background: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in project management and youth work fields as well as solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills;
- Languages: Strong oral and written skills in English
- Other:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and of project management tools;
- Being detail-oriented with strong communication skills;
- Having the ability to solve problems and manage time effectively,
- Being able to work in a multicultural team and work as a part of a team, meeting the deadlines;
- High computer literacy, with good knowledge of social media tools;
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimum supervision.
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The fellow is expected to conduct his/her fellowship activities during 5 days of the week, from 10:00 to 17:00, with 2 days off each month.
The fellowship will be implemented in Yerevan, Armenia.
PROPOSED TIME FOR THE FELLOWSHIP
4 to 8 months between October 2017 - May 2018
