As part of Tatavla Carnival Baklahoran; an online talk was held on 14th of March, with the author Hüseyin Irmak who has a particular interest in Tatavla, today known as Kurtuluş and its past and multicultural structure. The online talk was broadcast live on the Hrant Dink Foundation's Youtube, Twitter and Facebook accounts and website. You can watch the talk again from the video below*.

 

Hüseyin Irmak was born in 1961, in Sivas, Zara. He settled in Kurtuluş with his family when he was four years old. He worked as a reporter for Güneş in 1987 and for Tercüman newspapers in 1989-91. He has been working as the media consultant of Kâğıthane Municipality since 1991. Irmak's book, ‘From Tatavla to Kurtuluş’ consists of childhood and youth memories in Kurtuluş, sharing stories about the past and the present of the district, was published by Aras Publishing in 2003.
