Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant continues to increase direct contacts and to promote cooperation between the peoples of the two neighbouring countries.

During May-August 2018 application period, Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant received a total of 100 applications from both countries. We are delighted to announce that in this round, thanks to the support of the UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund, the Hrant Dink Foundation in partnership with Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre will be offering support in the form of a travel grant to a total of 40 individuals21 from Armenia, 19 from Turkey - for their visits to the neighbouring country with specific purpose and programme.

Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant 16th Round Grantees 

Baran Bedir from Istanbul will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for doing a research on digital transformation in Armenia and preparing a conference about public discourse and hate speech in the digital media.

Lilit Ayvazyan from Ararat, Vahe Khachikyan and Davit Khachatryan from Vanadzor, representatives of Colson Youth Center and NGO Center, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Izmir and Istanbul for meeting with Pi Youth Association and other CSOs to get acquainted with the role of youth and mechanisms used by CSOs for involving them in the social and community life of Turkey.

Dilek Aydın from Istanbul and Dilek Gökçin from Muğla, who work on the documentary “On Her Own / Bir Başına”, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for meeting with their Armenian co-producer and with the potential actors who will take part in the production of the film.

Ani Asribabayan from Yerevan, a member of the crew of the documentary “On Her Own / Bir Başına” will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul and Mardin for participating in the shootings of the film in Turkey.

Armen Kirakosyan from Ashtarak and Armenuhi Sargsyan from Yerevan, representatives of AYRUDZY Riding Club Eco-Cultural NGO, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Izmir for participating in the 3rd International Conference for Renewable Energy Cooperatives together with their partner Troya Environmental Association.

Emin Serin from Antalya, a representative of Antalya Education and Research Foundation, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for meeting with Caucasus Research Resource Center-Armenia and preparing a joint workshop on entrepreneurship ecosystems of the two countries.

Zekeriye Aydoğan and Selman Deniz from Istanbul, the producer and director of the short-film “Veger / Return”, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for completing the shootings in Armenia.

Tigranuhi Aleksanyan from Abovyan, Garik Ovoyan from Ashtarak, Ani Grigoryan, Karlen Baghdasaryan and Nelli Melkonyan from Yerevan, youth workers from “Future in Our Hands”, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Izmir for participating in the second phase of the exchange project “Young Social Entrepreneurship Gathering” hosted by Yaşayarak Öğrenme Merkezi-YAŞÖM.

Arzu Kırayoğlu from Bursa, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Dilijan for meeting with Youth Cooperation Center of Dilijan – YCCD and planning of new projects in the field of youth social entrepreneurship.

Aram Sayiyan from Nor Hachen, a research worker from National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for studying the scientific materials for his research on “The national policy of Kemalist authorities towards national minorities in Eastern vilayets in 1919-38” at Boğaziçi University Library and other institutes.

Kristine Gasparyan from Yerevan, an EVN Report contributor, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul and Ankara to complete her research on EU-Armenia-Turkey relations by conducting interviews with representatives of academia and civil society on Turkey-EU relations.

Mehmet Akyil, Baver Nart and Kahraman Ağaoğlu from Diyarbakır, representatives of Young Entrepreneurs, Industrialists and Businesses of Middle East (OSGIAD) and Cevsan waste recycling company, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for participating in a workshop and presenting about plastic waste management together with their partner Urban Foundation for Sustainable Development.

Gayane Ayvazyan, Lilit Stepanyan and Lia Mkhitaryan from Yerevan, representatives of Eiva Arts Foundation, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for meeting with their partners Boyut Publishing, ONES Media, as well as Istanbul Museum of Modern Art to work on joint projects aiming to promote Turkish and Armenian art among young generations.

Selma Kara from Kayseri will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for meeting and interviewing Armenians of Kayseri who currently live in Armenia and prepare a short documentary.

Dağlar Çilingir and Fatma Turgut from Istanbul, representatives of Y-PEER Turkey, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for meeting with Y-PEER Armenia to discuss and develop future cooperation projects.

Mraz Khmoyan from Yerevan, the page editor of “R’ya T’ezenewspaper, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Diyarbakır and Istanbul for participating in Diyarbakır Comparative Literature Days as a guest by Lîs Publishing and Diyarbakır Arts Center, and for meeting with Kurdish literary circles of Istanbul.

Nora Koyuncu, Merlin Kıyıcı, Herman Köşker, Lina Saraydar and Catia Romina Ayanyan from Istanbul, students of Private Dadyan Armenian Primary School, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for a cultural exchange with the students of Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educomplex.

Argine Mardoyan from Gyumri, a lecturer from European University of Armenia Gyumri branch, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for conducting a research at Istanbul Şehir University on the “Attractiveness of Turkish higher education for European students and opportunities of integration in the country” and draw comparisons with Armenian higher educational system.

Shaohuai Ren from Istanbul, a PhD student from Istanbul University, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for studying about figurative motifs used in Armenian architecture and find connections between Armenian and Turkish arts.

Tatevik Melkonyan from Spitak, Lilit Muradyan and Hrachya Gyumbalyan from Yerevan, a lecturer and students of Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for meeting with Boğaziçi University students and examining the culture, calligraphy, music, architecture of Istanbul to prepare a performance based on Orhan Pamuk’s “My Name is Red” novel.
