With the participation of academics and journalists working on issues of discrimination, racism, discourse, media ethics and freedom of expression, the conference "Wounding Words and Acts: Hate Crimes and Hate Speech" was held.
Sabanci University hosted an international workshop entitled 'Adana 1909: History, Memory, and Identity from a Hundred Year Perspective'. The workshop included scholars from the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy.
The conference entitled ‘The Social and Economic History of Adana and the Region’ organised by the Hrant Dink Foundation, took place at the Boğaziçi University on 21st of November 2008.
