Before the football match that was played between Armenia and Turkey, during the Turkish National Anthem, Armenian fans whistled the anthem and protested it. We analyzed how these acts were reflected in the national and local press in Turkey.

Using critical discourse analysis, we evaluated news articles and columns that were published in Turkey’s national and local press in February 2023 that targeted national, ethnic, and religious identities.

The Hrant Dink Foundation will organize a conference titled ‘Minority Rights in the Centennial of the Republic’ on November 17-18, 2023 in Istanbul. The conference seeks to analyze the rights of minorities, their problems and the solutions to these problems.

As of February 6, 2023, we observe that the destruction caused by the earthquakes, like all disadvantaged groups, made immigrants and refugees more vulnerable and there is an increase in hate speech against these groups.

The project titled “An Up-To-Date Approach to Minority Rights’’ which started in July 2021 has been completed. The report titled “Tight Outfit: Armenian Institutions in Turkey, Problems and Solutions,” written by Ohannes Kılıçdağı, has been published.
