We are in the process of preparing for institutionalization in order to increase the academic efficiency of the studies carried out in the field of Armenian Studies in Turkey, to support its content diversity, to encourage researchers and to support the life of Armenian culture and language.

For this purpose, the activities we have been carrying out since March 2016 are as follows:

  • Visiting the reference historical centers abroad, with regard to library and archival facilities and the diversity of researchers. On these visits, we shared information with scholars, library and archive authorities, public institutions and universities for establishing permanent collaboration.
  • Apart from public institiutions, by being in contact with civil society organizations abroad, both physically and online, to benefit from their experiences and suggestions.
  • Organizing round table meetings with scholars and researchers who have written master and PhD thesis in the field of Armenian Studies in Turkey, to listen the requests and recommendations coming from them.
  • For the continuity of Armenian culture; making one-on-one meetings with School principals, foundation representatives, teachers; Civil society authorities, academicians and intellectuals from Turkey, including the Armenian community.
  • Hrant Dink Foundation Library was opened in March 2016 as part of archive studies which is one of the important phases of the institute preparation period. The library is in the process of becoming specialized in Armenian Studies.
  • Preparing a report at the end of the process to formulate a framework for the institute, and emphasizing its specific aspects by taking advantage of similar experiences.
