The paper titled 'Citizens of Turkey Travelling to Armenia: Policies and Guidelines' penned by Ara Ghazarian, a leading human rights lawyer in Armenia has been published. In the absence of consular representation, the paper provides information on visa and residency procedures, expulsion, deprivation of liberty, extradition, asylum, property rights, money transfer and legal assistance that the citizens of Turkey need to be aware of while travelling to as well as during their stay in Armenia.

In conjunction with the paper above, we invite you to take a look at the policy brief 'Armenian Citizen Migrants in Turkey', which is a needs assessment study conducted jointly with the Istanbul Bilgi University Centre for Migration Research amongst Armenian-citizen migrants and their children living in Istanbul. The brief provides an overview of the state of and obstacles faced by Armenian Citizens in Turkey in the relations between the two countries, analyses institutional frameworks and opportunities as well as providing recommendations. The content of the brief continues to be applicable and interesting even more so given the evolving nature of the relations.

Both of the above-mentioned publications were developed and produced as part of the Armenia-Turkey Expert Dialogue Group which has been convened by the Foundation since 2016. The Dialogue Group is a joint initiative of experts from both countries with backgrounds in politics, diplomacy, academia and civil society who are committed to contribute to the Turkey-Armenia relations at different levels. The overall objective of the Dialogue Group is to develop confidence-building measures aimed at the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
