Energy Institute was established in 1961 on Istanbul Tecnichal University campus with the name of Nuclear Energy Institute, it was renamed as Energy Institute in 2003, to form a center for advanced research covering the other areas of energy. The aim of our institute is to make and encourage research and development projects in the broad range of energy science and engineering in Turkey. With 70 academic staff, 10 research groups, "Energy Science and Technology" MSc and Ph.D. programs, also “Radiation Science and Technology” Msc program, Energy Institute provides education, research and collaborative opportunities with partner organizations and individuals.

 

The institute includes 5 divisions:

Nuclear Researches Division,
Renewable Energy Division,
Conventional Energy Division,
Energy planning and Management Division,
Energy Science and Technology Division.

AREA / SUBJECT OF THE FELLOWSHIP

The fellowship activities include renewable energy technologies mainly focused on photovoltaic, solar thermal and wind power at urban or facility scale.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED FELLOWSHİP ACTIVITY

  • Giving seminar(s)/lecture(s) on his/her profession field.
  • Project development about renewable energy-based pilot schemes concluding with at least one article or proceeding.
  • Expanding project ideas including energy production via renewable resources and supply it to the energy-demanding local or larger areas which leads to possible academic collaborations between two countries.

EXPECTED PROFILE

  • Being graduated from mechanical, electrical/electronic or industrial engineering
  • Having or during a Ph.D. with topics of renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind and hybrid systems.

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

4 days/week and 6h/day on week days.

May-June 2020 or any one month interval between September 2020 and December 2020
