The Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs—AIISA—is an independent research institute based in Yerevan, pursuing the goal of promoting independent foreign and domestic policy analysis for Armenia anchored in the shared values of human rights, political freedom, and free market. AIISA aims at shaping the peace and security nationally and internationally through:

  • Comprehensive Monitoring & In-Depth Analysi
  • Risk Assessment & Strategic Forecast
  • Policy Implication & Intellectual Impact
  • Crisis Management, Conflict Prevention & Resolution

AIISA hosts expert roundtables, policy seminars on the latest developments in the country. It also has 10-day evening Democracy Schools after A. Bayandur, which networks students, young researchers from Armenia’s all educational institutions, and the fora launched by AIISA create opportunities for their networking and further close cooperation. AIISA publishes several hundreds of analytical articles and researches annually on pressing issues and developments of international and regional, foreign and domestic policies, as well as commenting and giving interviews to local and international printed media and TV news.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED FELLOWSHİP ACTIVITY

The fellow is expected to carry out research and/or prepare analytical articles, policy papers, briefing papers, reports in one of the mentioned fields. The fellow will provide consultancy for the organization of policy seminars (also off-the-record), fora, and for various research projects. The fellow should have a good command of English.

The fellow will socialize with influential policy makers in Armenia, participate in expert roundtables (also off-the-record), policy seminars, briefings (English translation is provided). AIISA experts and associate fellows are professionals in their field and they will provide any consultancy/information needed for the fellow to carry out his/her fellowship. AIISA associate fellow Hayk Gabrielyan, Turkologist, is well aware of the field and will assist the fellow should he/she need any information. AIISA staff will support the fellow in any technical or other issues.

EXPECTED PROFILE 

University professors, experts, young researchers, representatives of civil society organizations who hold at least an MA degree in the field of their expertise.

From Monday to Friday, working hours: 10:00-18:00
