İZEV Foundation (İstanbul Education & Solidarity Foundation for Mentally Handicapped) has been operating since 1989 and continues its activities in the fields of education of children and adults with mental disabilities, as well as their socializing, gaining independent life skills, acquiring a profession and gaining the equal right to life.
It offers multi-faceted support programs for adults with mentally handicapped individuals in its center located in Sarıyer, Istanbul, conducts employment studies with its shop located at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and conducts information activities for individuals with mental disabilities through awareness-oriented field activities. Since 2018, the Foundation has been implementing research and reporting activities as well.
It aims to carry out international studies by opening representative offices in the USA and England in 2020.
AREA / SUBJECT OF THE FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship activity is expected to be on the mentoring.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED FELLOWSHİP ACTIVITY
- Giving information about education, socialization, independent life, vocational education, employment for mentally disabled individuals
- Sharing of the models applied by İZEV and in Armenia
- Transferring information about the current situation regarding disability in two neighbouring countries
- Advocacy and self-defense activities
EXPECTED PROFILE
- At least three years of working experience with individuals with mental disabilities
- Being able to speak and understand Turkish (pre-intermediate or higher)
- If the applicant cannot speak Turkish, a volunteer for translation will be needed.
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The office hours are 10:00 to 17:00 on weekdays.

One month between March 2020 - May 2021, except for June, July, August, and September
